Blizzard Dota on Starcraft 2 - Blizzcon 2011
Blizzard DOTA for Starcraft 2
Anaheim, California - Blizzard Entertainment has officially revealed the trailer for their Starcraft 2 custom game inspired by IceFrog's Defense of the Ancients (DOTA). Like other games in the Dota genre, Blizzard DOTA is built as a team-based competitive game in which players controls a powerful unit with unique abilities to destroy the enemy team's base.
What is the Dota genre?
In Dota genre games, waves of computer-controlled creatures for each team spawn and advance across the map to destroy the opposing base. Human players use units called Heroes to fight alongside these AI-controlled creatures to push the battle, destroy the enemy team's towers and eventually obliterate the enemy base.
The official trailer for Blizzard Dota
Related: More information about the Dota genre (Wikipedia).
Unlike serious competitive Dota-style games like Heroes of Newerth, Dota 2 and the Defense of the Ancients mod, Blizzard DOTA will be taking the casual game approach of Riot Games' League of Legends and has implemented elements of LoL's Dominion mode.
To compete with other free to play Dota games like HoN and LoL, Blizzard will release Blizzard DOTA as a free to play game that can be accessed by Starcraft 2 Starter Edition accounts.

Blizzard Dota Reboot
Blizzard's Dota Remade - 2012 Projected Release
Irvine, California - Back in October 2010, Blizzard Entertainment announced Blizzard Dota, a Starcraft 2 custom map. After seeing Dota 2's impact at Gamescom 2011, a Blizzard employee revealed to the public that the version of the Dota game shown at BlizzCon 2010 has been "flattened".

Blizzard Dota Remake
"Dota is a very addictive game that chases the vast majority of people off because their team mates are screaming at them. We've always felt Dota has a very accessible, easy to approach fun game deep down inside that's just waiting to come out."
-- Jonny Ebbert, Senior Designer at Blizzard Entertainment
About Blizzard All-Stars

Star Battle (Starcraft 2 custom Map)
Star Battle (Starcraft 2 UMS)
The Starcraft 2 map making community has been showing the capabilities of the Galaxy Editor with an influx of different types of maps. And from the European Starcraft 2 servers comes forth, Star Battle - a Starcraft 2 UMS built in the tradition of Warcraft 3's BattleShips.

Star Battle is 6 v 6 Dota map where you select a powerful ship (which can be upgraded) and fight against an opposing team of capital ships and smaller ships. The objective of the game is to destroy the enemy mother ship.
For those unfamiliar with the gametype, Star Battle is classified under the Dota genre - a game genre characterized by their similarity to Defense of the Ancients.
Fun facts:
-The Dota genre was sparked by Aeon of Strife - a UMS (Use Map Settings) from the original Starcraft game.
-Star Battle was based on the mechanics of the Warcraft 3 custom map called Battleships - another popular Dota map.
Closing Notes:
TotalBiscuit would like to ask, "Do you like lasers?"
Listen to Total Biscuit (Professional Terran SCV Caster) talk about Star Battle.
Verdict:
If you like lasers on your spaceship, then StarBattle is the SC2 custom game for you.

Starcraft 2 Prepaid Cards Now Available in SEA
Starcraft 2 Time Cards Now Available in SEA (Southeast Asia)
Singapore - The Southeast Asia region has one of the most active Warcraft 3 DotA communities in the world. It is also notorious for rampant piracy. Activision Blizzard's removal of the LAN function (an indirect form of DRM) in Starcraft 2 has stunted the number of Starcraft 2 players in the region. To increase the number of players, Blizzard Entertainment has introduced pre-paid time cards - a popular mode of payment in Southeast Asia. The Starcraft 2 game cards are available in the following denominations: 3 days, 7 days and 30 days. Starcraft 2 DVD Installers are also available.
