How to stop Dota 2 couriers from changing

The Rekindling Soul patch enabled couriers to morph to other couriers when delivering items.

For the supports who want to show their couriers, you can lock courier morph so that the courier will not change to another courier when they deliver their items.

To lock and unlock courier change in-game, just click on the padlock icon found below the courier icon.


 The unlocked padlock icon means that Courier Morph is enabled.


The unlocked padlock icon means that Courier Morph is disabled.

How to watch replays in Dota 2
A guide on how to view Dota 2 replays

Dota 2 replays are stored in:
* Steam -  steamapps - common - dota 2 beta - dota - replays

* Steam\SteamApps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\replays

Your latest Dota 2 matches are automatically saved in that folder.
Dota 2 replays are stored as .dem files.

To view the Dota 2 replays:

1. Open the Dota 2 console

2. Type playdemo replays/(name of replay)
Example:
playdemo replays/Navi_vici_2

3. Enjoy watching the game after the replay is loaded.


The name of the replay can be found on your replays folder.
They have the .dem extension.

How to delete Dota 2 custom games

This guide will teach you how to remove Dota 2 custom maps.

1. Open DOTA 2

2. Click the PLAY button found on the upper part of the DOTA 2 client.

3. Go to the CUSTOM GAMES tab.

4. Right click on the Dota 2 custom map that you want to remove.

5. Click UNSUSCRIBE.

6. You have officially removed the custom game mode from your DOTA 2 client!

How To Download Dota 2 Map Editor

Looking to create a Dota 2 custom map?

First, you must download the Dota 2 Workshop Tools Alpha.
It is the map editor used to create Dota 2 maps and mods.

(The following steps are necessary for the Alpha / Beta version)

1. Inside your Steam Client, click Steam (Upper left side) and click Settings.

2. On the Accounts tab, select STEAM BETA UPDATE under Beta participation.

3. After your Steam client has been updated, go to your Steam Library.

4. Right click Dota 2, click Properties and select the DLC tab

5. Check the Dota 2 Workshop Tools DLC check box to install the downloadable content.

6. After the Dota 2 Tools is installed, click LIBRARY and select TOOLS.

7. Select DOTA 2 Workshop Tools to run it.


8. Congratulations! You can now launch the Dota Workshop Tools and start making maps!

One of the largest DotA platforms outside of China has decided to remove Warcraft 3, DotA, and other LAN games in order to focus on their other games (Heroes of Newerth and League of Legends).

Guide: How To Reset Dota 2 Gems

This is a guide on how to reset the inscribed gems in Dota 2.


1. Go to your Armory in-game.

2. Right click on the Dota 2 item with the gem.


3. Select Socketing

4. Right click on the inscribed gem you want to reset and click Reset Inscribed Count.


5. Click YES when the confirmation box appears.


Congratulations! You now have a clean gem!

Transfer Dota 2 map on the other side

Due to popular demand, you can now flip your Dota 2 HUD.

This allows players to view the mini map on the other side.


Step 1: Go to Settings (found on the upper right side of the Dota 2 client)


Step 2: Click Options

Step 3: Check "Draw Minimap on the Right"


You can now play DOTA 2 with the map on the reverse side!

How to play Dota 2 offline (LAN mode)

Thanks to the Dota 2 LAN Update, players can now play the most popular game in the world via LAN.

Here's how to start playing Dota 2 in your local LAN party / LAN gaming center.

Step 1:
Start DOTA 2.

Step 2:
Click the PLAY button found on the top portion of the DOTA 2 user inteface.


Step 3:
On the CREATE LOBBY tab, select CREATE LOCAL LOBBY.


Step 4:
Click CREATE then wait for your friends to join the LAN Dota 2 room.


Step 5:
Start GAME.

If you want to join a LAN game, just do the following:
1. Start Dota 2
2. Click PLAY (found on the top)
3. Select Find a Lobby
4. Click Local Lobbies
5. Join the game.
6. Play DOTA 2 on LAN!

Korean Language for Dota 2

Dota 2 is the next big thing in South Korea with dozens of professional teams being formed to take a portion of the 2 Billion Won (1.7 Million USD) prize pool. For those who want to play the Korean version of Dota 2, you can now do it by following the steps.

Dota 2 Korea - Play Dota 2 in Hangul Steps:

1. Close Dota 2 if you're currently running the game.

2. Right click Dota 2 on your Library and select "Properties"



3. On the language tab, select "Korean".



4. Wait for the Korean voice packs and texts to be downloaded



5. After downloading the Dota 2 KR files, click on the Steam tab and select Settings.



6. Click on "Interface" and select "Korean" as your language.



7. Restart Steam in order for the new language settings to take effect.

How to share match history in Dota 2

Dota 2 turns "Share Match History" off as a default setting.

In order for a Dota 2 player to take use Dota 2 statistics websites like Dotabuff or Pubstats, the Share Match History option must be activated.

Dota 2 Training

Dota 2 is a game that demands a lot of hours for a player to play at a decent level via the Dota 2 Matchmaking system. To serve the growing number of players trying out Dota 2, Valve has released in-game tutorials aimed at players with zero real-time strategy experience.


These tutorials start with teaching basic character movement and Dota mechanics and go on to the Limited Hero mode where a new player can play with other humans as they learn the complex game of Dota 2 together.

Valve Corporation has allowed Dota 2 players to form and join guilds.

How to create a Dota 2 guild

1. Select the Community tab and click My Guilds.


2. Press the Create New Guild button.

3. Fill out the necessary information about your Dota 2 Guild.

4. Then click Create to start the new Dota2 guild.

As a Dota 2 guild leader, you can:
1. Disband the guild
2. Invite new members
3. Promote guild officers
4. Remove guild members

You can choose to disable getting Dota2guild invitations from random people.

2. Select the Game tab
3. Select the General tab
4. Select the option you desire under the Allow Guild Invites settings

Chinese Language for Dota 2
This will guide you on how to change the language to Chinese in Dota 2.


1. Close Dota 2 if you are currently running it.

2. Right click on Dota 2 and select "Properties".


3.  Go to the "Language" tab and select "Simplified Chinese" from the list.


4. Wait for Dota 2 to finish downloading the Chinese files.



5. Click on "Settings" under the Steam tab after the patch has been downloaded.


6. Click on "Interface" and select "Simplified Chinese" as your language.


7.  After clicking "OK", restart Steam.



8. Start playing Dota 2 in Chinese.

Dota 2 Pause Function

The DotA AI versions were instrumental in teaching new players about DotA.
Valve Corporation has taken note of that contribution and have added smart bots to play against in Dota 2.

Steps on how to activate Dota 2 Bots:

1) Create a game lobby.


2) In the Game Lobby Setup, check the "Fill empty slots with Bots" option.


3) You have created bots in Dota 2. Start playing!
